2017 is about to end. It’s been a year of adjustment for me. I’m adjusting to life back in London, went back to an office job and travelling to cities and towns instead of beaches and mountains. I wouldn’t say it’s not as good as my 2016. It’s just different.
It’s also a year of learning. I’ve learnt a lot of new things. Mostly professionally and personally. I gained lots of new skills that I can use to push my career further, honed some of my soft skills and I’ve discovered a few things about myself. Some of them I need to work on in 2018.
2017 might not have given me that much achievements but it has opened a lot of plans and projects for me.
I hope 2018 will be another awesome year. Of course, it’s up to me to make that happen. Most people wish and hope for better things in the new year. Make a list of ridiculous resolutions and then poof… stop and forget after January.
I’m like that so for 2018, I’m gonna make my resolutions public and make it a project. I’ve created a category for this. Every time, I’m working my resolutions, I’ll write a blog entry for it. No more procrastination.
My 2018 Resolutions:
1.) Travel once a month. Doesn’t need to be abroad. A short weekend trip to a town or city somewhere in the UK will do.
2.) Try 6 new things.
3.) Learn 3 new things.
4.) Sing Karaoke in public.
5.) Lose weight – 5kg every 3 months.
6.) Make 3 new friends and be more sociable.
7.) Finish that goddamn book.
I kept it short and realistic. Most of them are carried over from my past resolutions. 3 and 5 have been carried over many times already. I hope it gets sorted out in 2018. They’re open-ended as well. Getting ticked doesn’t mean it’s over.
Here’s to an amazing 2018. We’re given another gift of time. It’s up to us to make the most of it.
